Healthy Lifestyle = Less Blogging

It feels like a really long time since I've had a moment to sit and blog. With my goals for the New Year set, I have been daily and diligently working to meet those goals and let me tell you it is time consuming. I have to get up a little earlier to prepare nutritious food for lunches and prep some healthy dinner options, then off to work, then rush to get Little Chief from after school care, then rush to the recreational center for the work out class, rush to prepare a healthy, but quick dinner (try pulling that off), then fall into bed exhausted.

The weekend wasn't any better with planning meals, grocery shopping (why is healthy way more expensive?), rinsing and cleaning veggies galore, thinking about ways to incorporate some time for weight training (an apparent must), trying to spend quality time with kids and husband......geesh. I see why I am overweight. It is so much easier to come home, leisurely prepare a meal while sipping wine and then collapse on the couch for some mindless TV viewing, read to kiddos and self and then go to sleep. BUT - I am not going for the easiest route, no, not me, not anymore. This week I hope to share some healthy meals and tips that I am trying to incorporate into my life.

How about you, do you find time for a healthy lifestyle? Do you have any tips for a beginner like me? How about healthy, quick meal ideas? Please pass along any wisdom you might be able to share, I need it (and others may appreciate it too).

Last week I worked out for an hour every single night...was able to keep my blog writing up, but not my blog commenting.

Sigh...

But I need to lose weight. I do. I just love blogging, too. We need more hours in the day, for sure!

I work out after work because if I come home I probably won't go out again. I do plan a menu for the week which helps me know if I need to prep the night before.

I loved Blue Ridge Gal's comment. Yes, for me, blogging = blogging butt!

You sound like you're doing great. You juggle a lot in one day - I was feeling exhausted just reading about all you do. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to juggle being wife, mom and WORK OUT OF THE HOME mom.

Keep up the great work. We'll miss you if you don't post as often, but know we'll still love you. :) I cannot wait until the weather turns. I miss getting out. These days it's all I can do to be able to squeeze in some "me" time single parenting.

Okay, here's my healthy, quick meal suggestion - and my kids LOVE them - and it's more of a summer meal cause it's crisp and refreshing and healthy, but I've been know to "make" these other times of the year.

Buy a rotisserie (however the heck you spell that) chicken from the market. I slice off all the white meat (we're white meat eaters) and you're almost ready to go. I buy romaine lettuce, some low-fat/low-calorie Caeser dressing (Cardini's has a great low-cal one) and you simply wrap the chicken into a piece of romaine, put the dressing on it and sprinkle with parmessan cheese. Roll them up and eat them - you know, like a lettuce wrap. I also serve them with a bowl of fresh fruit - like I said this is a great one for summer - or even on a night when time's limited.

Keep on keeping on girl!

I do water aerobics in the morning. That kick starts my day. And I do feel so guilty about blogging.

But as for the rest...ummm...I'm a lazy slacker...
